The telescope is named after Herschel as a tribute to the discoverer Sir William Herschel infrared spectrum and planet Uranus. Herschel telescope is able to see the object space with the coldest temperatures in the area covered by the cosmic dust though. This telescope is able to collect light from the objects in the solar system that are billions of galaxies even light years from Earth.
